2 or 3 Things I Know About Her
July 31, 2009
If the above scene rings your bell, you might dig Jean-Luc Godard’s 2 or 3 Things I Know About Her, a film-essay about, among other things, the way language composes our world, capitalism, the late ’60s Parisian housing projects, prostitution, the Vietnam War, et al. It is one of his most striking and occasionally even beautiful films. I have only seen about a dozen or so of his many films, but I’d put this in my 5 favorites so far, along with Breathless, Pierrot le Fou, Band of Outsiders, and Contempt.
